The ground floor bar is the long wooden counter you see on the way in, with the bottles behind it and stools along the front. It runs all evening beside the dining room, which means a drink here does not require a table or a reservation. The second floor has a bar of its own, high tables and a stage, and it fills up on show nights. The terrace sits between the two, outside and at street level, which is where the shisha goes.
Twelve single malts, from a Talisker 10 to a Macallan 18, eight bourbons and blends, and a Royal Salute 21 for the nights that call for it. Five gins, four vodkas, four rums, four tequilas and a mezcal. Seventeen classic cocktails made properly and twelve of the house's own. Five beers on tap, wine by the glass and by the bottle, and champagne. Whole bottles come with mixers, peanuts and cucumber, which is how a table of six usually settles in.
The owner is Finnish, and the back bar shows it. Kyrö gin and Kyrö Malt Rye both sit on the list, the rye being one of the few Finnish whiskies that travels this far, and the Kyrö gin and tonic is served as its own drink rather than buried under a house pour. Finlandia is there too. It is a small thing, and it is the kind of small thing that does not happen by accident in Shekou.
The same venue has a duo on the terrace five nights a week and a stand-up open mic upstairs on Sundays.
